Hi I'm Sybil Doms
I studied at the Institute of Culinary Arts (ICA) in the Banhoek Valley, before spending time in the kitchens of some of the best-known chefs in the industry. I spent time abroad savouring fine wines after being awarded with a prestigious Sommelier Scholarship at Waddesdon Manor in the UK. On returning to South Africa, I built up a reputation as a freelance fashion, décor and food stylist. Around five years ago, I decided to give up my freelance work to return to my food and wine roots, launching my first company, Come Wine With Us, the ultimate foodie experience, in 2012.
Later I launched Sophisticated Chef by recognising the need for well-trained kitchen staff and highly skilled private chefs. After graduating,I frequently cheffed for high-end clients. I soon began to see a gap in the market. The result was Sophisticated Chef – a company that brings fine dining and exceptional service to guests.
